Quiet Case: Antec 3700BQE ????

I have a kingwin 242 case and its really too loud. It was nice looking at least i thought so but this was the biggest mistake when i built this pc. I had to mod the case becaues it wasnt providing enough cooling, well it was but i wanted the cpu temps to be cooler. So i added a blow hole and modded the rear to fit 2 80mm fans rather than 1. But this case is too loud.

I want a case that is quiet but is good at cooling as well. I just dont want to hear the pc when i am sitting at my desk. For example right now i can hear the fans going over my music right now. I just dont want that. I was wondering if this case was quiet and cool??

I know the antec sonata is a good one but its also like 100 i want to hit the price range under 100. Will only go above if the case is amazing.

Put your recommandations of a quiet case.

I've got one, the 120mm exhaust fan is 100% silent, but the PSU is a bit louder. Overall tho, if you pair it with quiet components, it's a winner. I love mine.

I have the AMB. Paired with a TP-550, the case it virtually silent. At that point the sound is all about your HDD's, CPU cooling, and VGA cooling.

OH ok thanks, i was planning on using my Antec TruePower 550W PSU, and my Zalman heatsink for my cpu so it shold be really quiet right?

How does this case compare to teh Sonata, i read that it has better air flow and cheaper fort eh same level of quietness.???

Should be VERY quiet for you.
I've never dealt with the sonata, but I like the size of this case(big, but not huge). It has a nice finish, and is very sturdy.
If you already have a good PSU then order from Directron.com. You can PSU delete on almost any case they sell. Makes the 3700 $50 right now.
They are in Houston(about 3.5 hours south of me), but I ordered at 9:00 AM on a Monday morning. It got here at 2:00 PM Tuesday afternoon!!!

The SLK-3700BEQ is almost identical to the Sonata. The main difference is the Sonata uses a special one fan power supply and the paint/front panel apperance is different.

Overall it's a nice case. Hard drives mount with rubber gromments, which knock down the seek chatter, and the power supply ajusts the fan speed based on temperature. The 120mm fan is also nice.

Honestly though, if you already have a nice power supply, why bother with a new case? The case will only be as quiet as the fans that are in it.

Why not rig up some soft hard drive mounting system and mod in some quiet fans? One or maybe two 80 mm fans should be plenty.

Good luck.

A crappy case with good fans is quiet, but still has bad air-flow
A good case will have good airflow. It's just a matter of did you do it with quiet or loud fans
