2x 4G 1333Mhz ram

No power supply or case yet. still looking. It wont be bigger than a Silvertone BD-05 though.

Its mostly for BR/MKV playing and internet streaming but I'd like it to be capable of playing any of the 4000 Steam games I've purchased lately which is Far Cry/Just Cause type stuff. Id like it to be quiet when watching movies but I dont care if its loud during gameplay.

I'll be building a gaming rig in a couple months so it doesnt need to be crazy.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

nvidia cards take less power at idle than ati, but take a bit more at load. some 560ti cards look pretty small (for their class) so i would look at those.

Grab a 9800 GT for like 50 to 80 dollars from net or ebay. The fan will spin at 30 percent and you will NOT hear it over your computer. When you play games fan will spin fast and make noise. gl

if you're building a gaming machine in a couple months then it makes more sense to get a dedicated HTPC card like a GT430. you will not hear it all and will handle all HTPC duties superbly.

It can do low rez, low detail gaming which can hold you over for a couple months.
