I'm thinking about a new hsf and some thermal stuff. I have a hsf came with cpu on retail box. I thought it would Taisol, but it's jsut showing Athlon on the black label. Doesn't Taisol use blue labels?
What's the quietest but works good hsf out there? I probably oc 1gig tbird later on.
Is it true that compound is better than pad or tape?
Where to shop?
Thanks.

the retail HSF that you got wouldn't be a taisol or one you'd want to use for overclocking- running stock it is perfectly fine. i'd reccommend a taisol CGK742092 which you can get from inflowdirect.com right now, it would suite your needs well. best solution that balances preformance and noise you should use on your tbird, however you would have to do a little modding if you're using an MSI K7T Pro2-A. another good option would be the alpha pal6035, you can pick which fan you'd like for the job (more noise is more power, find the middle line if you're OC'ing).

compond would be much better then tape if you could get some, perferably artic silver. you can find most of what you'd need at 2cooltek.com and millisec.com, quiet fans for the alpha can be found at phamcomputer.com.
