I recently bought a panaflo 12l for my SLK-947U. I have hear that you can fit a 90mm in it, and i have hard that if you stretch everything you can fit a 120mm in it. Should i stretch it and get a 120mm or should i upgrade to a 90mm. If so which fan will be the quietest best performing. (Im thinking panaflo).

I just ordered a Panaflo M1 BX 92mm from Frozencpu.com. Not many resellers have this in stock, and it is AFAIK one of the more quiet ones with decent cfm. It also has RPM monitor if you need that. I dont think a 120mm fan will fit on the Slk 947U very nicely. Firstly, you need to have at least 1.5-2" clearance between your mobo and your PSU. If you do, then you can try.

Not sure if this would work... Mount the 120mm fan 45 degree angle off axis of HS and use metal wire to tie it to the mounting holes within the body of the HS. I hear an AOC 120mm aluminum fan is quiet under 6V with starting voltage as low as 4V. Acoustifan, Globe, make the quietest 120mm fans if they are provided with less than 9V.

I definately have enough room (Im using a cheiftec dragon case god i love this case). However i thought i heard that you can bend the retaining clips a little and it will hold a 120mm fan.

Which would be quieter and run my CPU cooler 90mm or 120mm.

What is the best 90mm fan?

The best quiet 92mm fan out there right now is the Acoustifan 92mm. Nice and quiet, moves some air, comes with an inline resistor should you need it.

How does the panaflo stack up to it?

In my case i have 4 case fans, and the CPU fan. The 4 case fans are 2 Sunon 80mm that came witht the case, and 2 cheap-o fans rated at 28dba from Bestbuy, Then for my CPU fan i have a Panaflo 12L. I was going to replace the Panaflo with a 92mm fan (or if pins are bendable 120mm fan), buy another panaflo and put the two panaflo fans somewhere in my case.
Which fans should i get rid of first the Sunons or the Cheap-O besbuy fans? I was hoping to order all my stuff from one place and already have found everything except the fans at SVC. Can anyone recommend anything.

How about this.... Link

Yeah i know its a thermake and there are so innacurate with their noise ratings but SVC is out of the 92mm Panaflo and this is 21dba. Does anyone think this is a viable alternative or should i just order another fan from a different place. By another fan i mean an Acoustifan or a Panaflo. I will be getting this so i will be able to control the speeds of the fans.

If you want the quietest solution, Acoustifan 92mm will cost you like 20$ from a few select places. I have heard that panaflo distributors are giving all the online resellers a hard time. I have gotten this by calling SVC, Sidewindercomputers.com, and one other place. Frozencpu.com and Directron.com still sell the Panaflo 92mm Mediums. However, at a 12$ pricetag. Frozencpu guarantees an RPM sensing fan.

If you want a bit more airflow and bearable noise, get the 92mm Panaflo BX from frozencpu. You can turn down the voltage on this if 30db is too noisy.

After 12 various fans from thermaltake, all of which i fell for their db rating, I cannot recommend them.

If you are replacing your 80mm case fans as well, get rid of the ones that either, sound horrible, or are not very effective with moving air.

I am probably gonna get rid of all the fans eventually but i have the stats for the cheap-o best buy fans ( i only bought them for the lights)

32.5cfm
2500RPM
28.3dba
12v dc
.13Amps
1.3Watt

And i have 2 of those.

Then i have 2 of those Sunons that come with the chieftec dragon cases. Which are thenoisiest things on the planet... (I would guess around 32da as that is the lowest rating i have found on any of SVC's Sunon fans.

The 92mm acoustifan would be a good place to start for getting rid of your noisy fans and getting quiet ones.
