Quiest Hard drive now?

Can anyone recommend a quiet drive (around 300GB).

I got my Seagate 320 GB yesterday and although it's quiet when idle it's pretty noisy when seeking. Thanks.

I hear the samsung spin point drives are pretty quiet.

Samsung Spinpoints are the best choice for silence.

The Spinpoints are quiet. But I'm also impressed with how quiet my 320GB Seagate 7200.10 is.

I've heard the same thing about the Samsungs. Actually, I have one, but the rest of my system is too loud to know what kind of noise the drive is making I actually heard that the 7200.10 drives are louder then usual.

I own 2 400Gb freecom external harddrives which use SpinPoint drives. I can bearly hear them, and I'm sure you wouldn't be able to if you bought the internal versions.

I have a spinpoint, very quiet. My cheapo case amplified the vibrations of the drive tho so I rubber mounted it. Now it is totally silent and I have to check the LED on the front of the case to make sure it is actually doing something

I've got a 160GB Samsung Spinpoint as well. It's been going strong since 2004 and it's very quiet.
