As reported here, an update is available for QuickTime which resolves some significant security risks. Updates are available from
http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/
for Mac and Windows. If you never actually use QuickTime, uninstalling it until such time as you actually need it is even more secure.
Also consider checking your Windows systems with the Secunia Personal Software Inspector (Win2000/XP) or the Java-driven Secunia online checkup to identify and fix known security vulnerabilities in stuff like Adobe Reader, QuickTime, WinAmp, IMs, email clients, Sun Java, and so on. Some of these vulnerabilities are actively used to cause serious infections, so get 'em fixed :thumbsup:
