Quicktime Pro Help

I have quicktime pro and I am trying to get movies onto my ipod. When i attempt to convert video files to ipod format it begins to convert the video file to 320x400 (which is ipod format). But I let quicktime pro run for about 15 hours and it is only 22% done converting the file. The file is a music video so it is not very large. If anyone knows what is wrong or how i can speed up this process the help would be greatly appreciated. Also are there any other programs to move movies to your ipod besides quicktime pro?

Use videora instead of quicktime if you have a PC
