Whether you think it's a worthwhile program or not (I'm finding it both handy and frustrating), Quicktime Pro can be useful. I bought a copy for some minor QT editing and had a problem trying to activate it in Vista 64.
Quicktime Pro activation procedures involve finding the Quicktime control panel. In Vista 64 it doesn't show up natively, it takes a little digging to find it. It's accessible in the 32-bit Control Panel view.
To get there, open up Control Panel and type "32-bit" in the search box. One of your choices will be "View 32-bit Control Panel Items." Click on that and you'll see Quicktime.
Just trying to help. I couldn't find any hints with Google so thought I'd share.
While I'm here though, any good freeware apps to edit .mov files?
