For some reason, if I try to lauch a QT file or launch the QT program, an error box pops up:
QuickTimePlayer: QuickTimePlayer.exe - No Disk
There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into the drive. \Device\Harddisk4\DR19.
Cancel ------ Try Again------Continue
Clicking any of those does nothing, but the device number changes like \Device\Harddisk5\DR20 and \Device\Harddisk6\DR21. After clicking about 25 times, the player comes up. Embedded QT players, like movie trailers, work without a hitch.
I know it sounds like it's looking for a CD-based file, but I've used it about a week ago and there were no problems, so I don't get what this is about. I've cleared the Recent Docs list, uninstalled and reinstalled QT (bundled with iTunes now) and I'm stumped.
A Google located this thread but none of the steps there worked and this MSKB article doesn't seem to apply here.
Any ideas? TIA!
