Hello:
I am wondering if there is any shareware or software that will help convert a Quicktime file to a mpeg file. I have these movies from BMWfilms.com and I want to burn them on a VideoCD and I am wondering if anybody can help me with it.
If not, is there any free/shareware that allows you to burn these Quicktime movies onto a CD and then watch them on your DVD player?
Thanks a lot.

Here is a demo program. Although, it displays a MPEG logo on all output, but it will do what you're wanting to do.

Good luck!

Download TMPGEnc from here.

Then download the Quicktime reader plugin for it here.

Then you just load it up. You have to convert to either MPEG1 or MPEG2 from there (as far as I can tell). I usually convert to high bitrate MPEG1 (so I dont lose any quality), then use VirtualDub to convert that to MPEG4 (DivX). MPEG1 is easier to play around with than MPEG2, more programs (like VirtualDub) support it.

It works great for me to convert the Star Wars Quicktimes to DivX!
