quicktime keeps randomly uninstalling itself...

i have winxp installed on a new comp, and quicktime keeps uninstalling itself for some reason... well, at least i think it is. this has happened as a couple of times now. when i try to open files registered to quicktime, the "quicktime.exe cannot be found" box will pop-up and when i take a look at the folder where quicktime is installed (c:\program files\quicktime), all the files except for qttask.exe are gone. and i have to reinstall quicktime to get it back...

any suggestions?

Nope, not OT to computers.... at all.

1. Does anyone else have access to your computer? 🙂
2. Maybe yoour System Restore kicks in and restores the system to before-QuickTimian days
3. Maybe you are looking in the wrong directory?
4. This time, install to a different directory
5. Reinstall Windows 🙁

Ok, if you REALLY want to do this:
download FileMon from SysInternals.com, and set up a filter to monitor what goes on in the QuickTime directory. You will find out who is messing with it.
