Quicktime Can't Find Needed Compressor

ParatoOptimal

Golden Member
I'm trying to play a *.mov file.

Quicktime tells me that it can't locate whatever it needs from Quicktime's website.

The movie wont play.

I can click play and the bar that indicates viewing time passed moves but there's no picture or sound.

I tried to launch/watch it again and got a popup that the required compressor couldn't be found.

Thanks

Can you play the file on another PC...???
If you can reinstall Quicktime...
If you can't it's probable a bad file...
You can try to redownload it if you got it off the net...
Or if it's from a camera try using the camera's software to open it...
