"Quickies" is not, imho, a good name for a hot dog joint.

A week or so ago I'm driving home from work and I noticed that this little drive-thru coffee shack that has been shut down is getting renovated. Amusing. A few days later I notice new signage had gone up, so I read it:

Quickies Gourmet Hot Dogs

Somehow, the notion of putting a "Quickie in my mouth" just isn't very appealing to me. Especially a wiener.

looks like the name is doing it's job - you are giving them free advertisement because of it.

I think they are trying to get across that you can get served fast. Plus, its not just any hot dog, but a "gourmet" hot dog.

As a hot dog fan I would be more likely to stick my head in to see the menu just because of the added benefit of getting my dog quickly.
