quickie: what's the codename for GeforceFX6800?

sorry, I've been very outdated from the hardware field,
so the GeforceFX6800 = NV30?
and what is NV40 is going to be named, GeforeceFX7800?

and for the ATI side, does the RV300 series = Radeon 9600 to 9800?
and RV400 = Radeon x800?

oh and companies are calling the cards "nx"6800s

RV420 to the best of my knowledge. That number seems to ring a bell. Just a guess tho

nvidia dropped the "FX" branding and stuck with 6800 now, the 6800s are nv40, the PCI-Express 6800s use a core named nv45. the nv45 core apperas to be the same in all aspects except for a bridge chip. its a pci-e to agp bridge. i actually think its cheaper this way because they can just spit out nv40 cores and add a bridge chip for the pci-e cards.

ati has the r420 core which is the x800.... i think the x600s are based on a r410 core. the r420 is for agp, and r423 is for PCI-Express. ati made a native pci-e core and a native agp core.

ATI's x600 is rv380 and is just a 9600(rv350/360) with pci-E.
