Quickie Stress Test tool?

I seem to recall and have used a quick client and server based network stress tool that just pounds out the packets as quickly as possible. I know I've read someone here recommend it, but I can't find it around anywhere.

I just need to test the stability of a 6509 L3 blade running a specific (and higly questionable) IOS train that we're worried about. Granted a box-to-box test isn't perfect, but it would at least get us some load. I've got Solaris or Wintel boxes to run it on, so anything is good.

netperf is an old favorite.

There's also a good Linux based kernel traffic generator, I don't know if the one in 2.4/2.6 is the one I've used in the past, but it can generate quite interesting amounts of load on a well equipped PC.
