Quicker network connectivity at start-up?

I just recently upgraded my rig, using the Gigabyte Z77X UD5H motherboard. Everything is running smoothly, except that I've noticed it takes a good 10-15 seconds upon a fresh start for my current internet connection (through an ethernet cable ran directly to my DSL router) to be detected. Normally, this isn't a big deal, but it was much quicker on my old Asus board and due to my SSD, 10-15 seconds is about the length of my entire boot!

So, I was wondering if there is a way for me to speed this up. Maybe add a certain process to the msconfig->startup group or something similar? Maybe this board has a feature I don't know about? I have the newest drivers installed for my motherboard, including those for the network controller. Any ideas? Thanks! :$
 
Log to the Router's menus and find out how the IP assignment is configured.

Clean up any assignment that might be there and still associated with the old Mac address of the previous Network card.

Previous DHCP assignments won't have anything to do with how long it takes to get an address, if anything it'll speed it up since there's already a lease in the table.

10-15s does seem a little long, but it could just be a driver/NIC problem.
