I had the same problem choosing one and I ended up going with Quicken. They have free trials of both and so I tried each one out for a week or two and then chose quicken. It seems easier to use and feels a bit more polished IMO.

EDIT: Quicken has an online backup feature for like $20 a year that saved my butt. I STRONGLY recommend using it.

I tried MS Money, but gave up on it. I couldn't get it to do the things that I wanted. Right now, I use excel. I have a master finance file, and then they are archived by year. Works out great.

I use quicken, just for a simple budget and to see how much money I'm saving, and to see my several accounts/ credit cards in one place. I'm happy with it, but I imagine MS Money would work just as well for me.

I've heard Quicken 2007 is really good, but I've been using Money for awhile now and am currently using 2006 and am happy with it. Does everything I need.

You made the right decision. ;) I've been using Quicken since 2003, and use it at least a few times each week. I also use Pocket Quicken on my Treo, so I always know how much money I have available, what receipts and deposits have and have not been put in yet, etc. I would be lost without it.

Intuit is constantly trying to get you to spend money on their products and services, and they are always trying to lock people in with proprietary formats and "discontinued" versions (making you think you have to upgrade). But try and get help when you have a question or a problem and you'll see how much they really care about you.
I started using their products in 1993, but in the last few years they really suck as far as their attitude toward their users, so now they don't get my money.

agreed 100%. The one time I had a problem when my HDD went nuts I called them and it was like $15 per tech call. Thats the only company I ever called where they were going to charge for a tech call for a product that was 3 months old.
