Quicken - How good are the early versions?

I have a really early version of Quicken, which I've never gotten into. Sometimes an early version (it seems to me) can have most of the core functionality for a program. I hear that Quicken is one of the truly great programs. Later versions will have more bells and whistles, of course. Will what I have be seriously lacking?

What I've got here is a 2-floppy disk copy of Version 3 for Windows 3.1 (files date from 1993) !!! Will this even run on XP? :D

TIA

I use Quicken 1999 on XP.

I only track one checking account. Works fine for me.

Probably

Modern version of quicken are very bloated, but good luck getting downloadable content / updates to work on earlier versions.

Thanks. Guess I'll be stuck with the original install. No fixes. The chance of finding a patch for the 1993 3.1 Windows version seems remote.
