Quicken backup starts reinstall after XP upgrade

I have Quicken 2005. Last week I upgraded W2K Pro to XP Pro. Among the other little glitches that have surfaced since the upgrade, today I go to do Quicken's backup (click their button and it backs up to any designated directory - I've used it regularly for a long time) and when it starts its sequence of little windows to click OK to, up pops a box saying the application is open, please close it first before installing, then it goes right into the routine for installing Quicken.

What in the world? The installation CD is nowhere in there. . . .
