Quick wireless question involving APs/bridges

Okay, lets say I have multiple PCs upstairs and multiple PCs downstairs. I want to newtork them all together, but don't want to buy a wireless PC card for each one. So I buy a wireless router and put it upstairs. To network the PCs downstairs, can I buy a wireless AP, run a cable from the LAN port to a switch, and then from the switch to the PCs? Sorry if that doesn't make any sense.

I think you'd just need to make sure the two routers or AP's you can gan serve as a bridge

Connect the PCs downstairs to a Switch.

Get a Driverless Wireless Client Device (Aka Work Group Bridge, like the Linksys WET11).

Plug it to the Switch/Hub, and you are connected.
