My c: partition is basically full with win2k, so i figure i'll install winxp on the d: partition. Now will the winxp install put everything on the d: parition, or will it still put the "program files" and "documents and settings" directories on the c: drive?

The OS will be completely on D:, w2k will still be C: and but many program installs default to c:/ directories for installs. So its a bit messy, but certainly do-able...dew.

Ok so winxp screwed up a bit, after installation win2k couldnt boot so i ran the win2k repair disk. Now win2k boots fine but winxp doesnt boot. I figure its the boot.ini file.

[boot loader]
timeout=5
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect /NoExecute=OptIn

Win2k is on c: drive and winxp is on the e: drive, i tried changing the partition to 3 rather then 2 but that didnt work. Its one big drive with 3 partitions(c/d/e) so i figured setting it to 3 would work, but it didnt. Any ideas?
