Anyone know if Windows ME has the ability to do formats from within Windows the way Win2k and XP do via the Administrative Tools -> Disk Tools. or is it fdisk and format via a boot disk?

I know everyone is gonna say, use a real OS, but I'm not in front of the machine, plus he had problems with 2k before.

You just want to format a disk? In Windows Explorer, right click on the drive you want to format and select "format." You can also type "format <drive letter>:" in the run window. No fancy utilities needed.

no, I know I could have done that.

This drive isn't showing up in "My Computer, but windows did recognize the drive as existing because it was in the device manager.

When I bought my 80 and put it into my XP box, the drive didn't show up, but when I went to the Disk tools, it knew the drive was there, let me format and partition it.
