I'm looking to build a new PC. Which mobo do you recommend.

I need:

Support for DDR 2700
Best Chipset (will be running 2.4 or 2.5GHz 533Mhz Bus)
RAID
USB 2.0
Lots of PCI slots
Great Performance.

I heard the Asus new board with Sis 648 chipset was suppose to be good, what you think?

Thanks

btw, which DDR ram will this mobo take

thanks

Here would be my recomendation:

MSI 845E Max2

It has all the features you requested and the Intel 845E chipset, which best for compatibility and performance. MSI is well known for features and stability, so it would be my top pick based on your needs.

As far as which RAM to get, I would always recommend Corsair's XMS sereis of RAM. I am currently running 768MB of the PC3000 spec at 333MHz, Cas 2-2-2-5, rock stable.

Disappointed

:) I picked up the Asus P4S-8X SIS 648 and I am thrilled to death with it. I matched it up with a 2.53 P4 and a 512 mb stick of Corsair XMS3200 CAS 2. I now have it stable as a rock at 155fsb (P4 2.94)and 193 (387) memory at CAS 1.5,2,2,6 1T. The parts were about $600.00 from NewEgg. The SIS 648 chipset seems to me to be hit or miss. At the same time I picked up a Abit 648 board and have had a terrible time getting anything out of it. Yet most of the reviews had much better luck with the Abit then the Asus at 400 mhz DDR. But many of the reviews I read had the Asus reaching a higher FSB in overclocking. Also it has the ability to set CAS at 1.5. I posted a couple of links in the "Official Asus P4S-8X" header of some of my Sandra scores. At this point the 400 mhz memory means nothing as I woud much rather have P4@2.94 running a 193 (387)memory speed at CAS 1.5,2,2 then a P4@2.53 running a 400 mhz memory Cas 3,3,3
