Quick, what to do with dry ice?

I had a friend in college who was big into the dune buggy scene. He told me when they would big blow-outs someone would bring a blown magnesium block out to the desert and welding torch and start the block on fire (guess it took some effort), but it would light up the dunes like daylight or so he would say. I always wanted to test this out, but I could never convince anyone I knew to let me light their block on fire........

you know what's more fun? pouring liquid nitrogen directly over dry ice... and if that's not enough fog for you, then pouring hot water on top of liquid nitrogen/dry ice mix.

one of the student workers at my lab did that the other day... fun to watch
