Ok so basicly,

i got this copy off

widows vista home edition upgrade for free

the disc says

"windows vista anytime upgrade"

my buddy got it with his comp he bought a while back before vista was released and he doesent wan it cause hes familiar with xp

so my question is, can i load this up on my computer?

also

how can i backup my files
i have ~40.gb's of movies
and ~5gbs of music

what can i do to back them up

i dont have a spare HDD.

You can use a bunch of DVD-RW's to back up your files..... But I dont know about upgrading to Vista with that cd.... If you have the same brand of computer and your friend that got the disk you may be able to do it. But to upgrade to Vista you must have the following:
512 MB Ram
128 MB Video Memory
14 GB Free HDD Space
