I'm currently building a new Gaming rig for my parents household. The specs are:

Intel Pentium 4 2.0Ghz
Asus P4PE Motherboard
512mb PC2700 DDR SDRam
Gainward GeForce4 Ti4600
Maxtor 120GB HDD.
Etc Etc Etc,


My question is this: I want to record VHS Tapes my father has, onto DVDs. Can I do this with this Video Card and what software is recommended to do this sort of thing. I'm new to the whole video edit and record thing so I need help with this.

as long as the vid card has VIVO (video in, video out) it should be easy. there are many recording programs available online, i would post and ask for some once you buy the system and set it up. as for burning to a DVD, i'm not so experienced in that field.
