Quick Ventrilo question

Obviously if you use an analog headset with 1/8" jacks for phones/mic, you will hear everything incl. game sounds thru the same headphones... but If you use a USB headset instead of analog, will the ventrilo session be the only sound coming from the headset, and the game audio still thru the speakers?
