Quick vacation for 3-4 days.

Hey guys. Looking for a quick getaway for 3-4 days. I live in SOCAL... usual spots like the bay area, vegas, san diego are out of the equation. What would you do in 3-4 days time that would be enjoyable?

If you haven't been there the National Parks (Zion, Bryce, Arches, Canyonlands) in Utah are beautiful. You should be able to hit two to three of them in 3-4 days.

Hop a flight to Cabos - about 2hr flight time.

Go to an all inclusive and chill by the pool/ocean during the day & party at night.

I'd be in the Sierras. Backpacking, climbing, mountain biking. I suppose if you're the couch potato type, then in a cabin or hotel and you can go outside when there's nothing on TV or when you get bored with ATOT.

Mammoth - Have my gear but don't feel like boarding. Been about almost 2 years since I last boarded and I have new gear too from 2 years ago.

Cabo - GF has an expired passport.

Sierras - I like mountain biking... don't really like hiking (boring as hell). I also like road biking. But gf does not like mountain biking nor road biking. She doesn't mind hiking.

National parks - Involves hiking.. walking around looking at crappy trees and such. Snoozefest.

When do you want to take that short vacation?

If you plan ahead, I can probably get you a reservation for Olds' basement...but I'll need your credit card info to make the reservation for you.

Not sure about 3 or 4 days, but a couple days on Catalina can be great, more if you like doing stuff in the water. Avalon is a small town and NOBODY on Catalina ever is thinking about work. Almost no cars, good food and drink, albeit somewhat tourist priced. Excellent place for a quick away from the hive refresh.

Depends on what you want to do, sit and read a book and look at the ocean, visit a museum, or hike or what?

Downtown Detroit is lovely this time of the year.

Instead of picking a place pick a thing you want to do, then go somewhere that has it. Want to ski? Surf? Fish? Golf? Hookers and Blow?

Sorry... March 20-23.

Anybody ever done a road trip driving along the California coast line? Hm...

Yeah, the PC1.

Hit Carmel, Big Sur and the like and the way to SF (and beyond). I don't know that I'd recommend it for you given your time frame. Also at the time I was living in FL and had not been to CA since I was really young. So pretty much everything was interesting to me. I doubt it would be for you.

Drive over to Sedona, takes about 6-7 hours with stops. Awesome scenery, simply beautiful! Stay at the Hyatt right in the middle of town next to the shops, bars and restaurants.
