I was digging through some boxes and came across some old processors. Here's a list:

I am planning on framing these processors with the years, type, and some background info of the processors. Oh and if anyone has any processors they'd like to donate to the cause, I'd be more than appreciative.
 
A few of those are better than some of the systems in use in my household. Just goes to show how outdated everyone is, except me.
 
I need a 386. Hey, it's not easy to come by those.
The P4 2.66 and the Celeron 2.66 I traded some parts for. So really, those weren't just laying around. All of the others were though. Oh and of course the donated ones.
 
Ah, this brings back memories of my first PC, a trusty ole' 386SX @33MHz. Wish I still had it...I don't even remember what I did with it.
 
Yeah, I just want to get some more for the collection. We just had a burnt out AMD Athlon 1.4ghz processor come into the shop one day so I'm thinking I might buy that for like $0.50 or something like that.
 
Man, I think I still have a 286, 386, several 486's (DX iirc), Pentium Pro, P2 233 SECC, K6-450 (about 10 of these) and others...I will have to check.
 
Well, it looks like the thermalsensor died and left the fans spinning slow. Then after that there was some high heat that melted the fan to fall off. After that... Well it was all over...

Wow, those are some nice chips man...

My family's first PC was a 386SX-20 with 1MB RAM, 20MB hard disk, 3.5" floppy, 5.25" floppy, and some version of MS-DOS. Ah, WordPerfect 5.1! The killer ap that essentially drove my Dad to buy it in late 1990. Oh, and it had a 256-color VGA adapter of some sort.

What it didn't have:
>A sound card. No, this baby used internal speaker beeps.
>A modem. He did add one later, though, which was used to dial directly into various libraries (never the internet).
>Windows. Not even version 3.x. The closest it came to a graphical interface was a "DOS Shell," which consisted of a simple text menu of all the software titles installed on the 20MB hard disk. Supposedly he would have needed to upgrade to 4MB RAM in order to use Windows 3.0 with any sort of practicality.
>A CD-ROM drive. The days of "multimedia" computing were still about 3-4 years ahead for the mainstream market.
>A mouse. He actually added one later, but without a GUI it was pointless to use--and so he never did.
>A power button. No, to turn this baby on and off you flipped a gigantic red switch on the rear-right of the enormous desktop case.

It was basically a $3,000 word processor.
 
Well, I need a lot of processors. I'm just saying I need 1 more processor to start framing. Because it's an even number to divide. 20. I could do 4 frames high by 5 frames wide. 🙂 or 2x 10

😀 i actually have that in my house

My Framed collection is as follow

XT 86
intel 286 16
AMD 386 DX 33
intel 486 SX 25
intel 486 DX 33
intel 486 DX/2 66
intel P5 100
intel P5 166
intel P5 200
intel P5 200mmx (black die type)
AMD Athlon XP 2100

most of them still works except for the Athlon XP 2100 (i killed it by accident installing the CPU fan 😛)

I also collection RAM sticks, and Cache Sticks (the ones from P5 era) / cache chips (XT/286/386/486)

Now my Life and working systems (for my personal use) all dual rigs:
intel Dual P5-233mmx
intel Dual PIII-1400
AMD 64x2 3800+
intel Duo2Core Extreme X6800

and i got other working AMD / Intel system around the house ranging from P3 to Athlons XP, to AMD 64 for any family member to use, and 1 on each room, except bathrooms 😛

total of aprox 10+/- system running life, and still got tons of spare in my basement 😀

man... talk about BioHazard with all those decaying computer parts stored in the basement 😕
