anyways, i've been using turbotax deluxe for 2 consecutive years
it imported my data from last year and calculated that i could claim $2000 in 2000 Capital Loss Carryover
i printed out my completed/filled tax form and it just looks odd to me:

i have a negative number in my Scedule D form and that's it............it doesn't have any other information to back that claim up
i don't remember getting any additional forms from my investment company since i didn't trade stocks this year

is this right?
or do i have to attach copies of my 1099 from the year 2000?

i know i probably don't make much sense right now but i'm kind of pressed for time

i am guessing last year u reported a net loss in your stock dealings? and the loss is being carried over to your taxes due today, but u'd have to itemize this year in order to take advantage of your loss carryover.

Hahah! So you got them done in time. I headed to the post office like half an hour ago and saw that the line for JUST parking the car went out into the streets into the intersection. I went "screw this" and went to the UC Davis post office. Spent 10 minutes in line and now I'm typing on anandtech. :)
