Quick snapshot poll

Not a US citizen...Not a Bush supporter at all...but i do support some of his policies.
I can also differentiate the areas Bush does and doesn't have control over; this is an important part of politics. (Don't blame people for things beyond their control)

...But the things they do have control over...ream them!! 😉

Same here. I remember liking something about his professed stance on nation-building.

Voted Libertarian in both elections. And what issue are you asking if I support him on? I doubt you'll find many for whom their support is a binary issue, completely no or yes on every issue.

I voted for W, but I'm on the fence now leaning toward not supporting him.

However, he's lame duck now. Start working on the next election. Quit worrying about him. Just let your congressmen/women know how you feel so they don't support his proposals.

That's a very good point. I was drawing my inspiration from the many folks on P&N who treat it as a binary issue, and I think that most people do align themselves generally on one side or the other without giving it too much extra thought. You'd need to ask them to dig down to give their non-binary views. At least, it seems that way. Maybe it can appear binary because people think of it in an "I would/wouldn't vote for him now" sense. ??

That's kind of the nice thing about being on the outside looking in...I never have to vote for any of these people...I'm also not exposed to a lot of the propoganda, advertising and campaign spending 😀

I voted for Bush and I still support him
2 votes 8.70 (%)

I voted for Bush but I don't support him anymore
0 votes 0.00 (%)

I voted for Bush and I'm not sure about supporting him now
3 votes 13.04 (%)

I voted for somebody other than Bush
16 votes 69.57 (%)

I didn't vote / am not a US citizen
2 votes 8.70 (%)

An interesting insight to the leanings of the board. I know those 16 didn't vote for Kerry. Would be interesting to see who the non-Bush voters voted for.

Well glenn voted libertarian...and the president has a low approval rating...that vote count isn't surprising.

I voted against Bush twice. As soon as he started making news as a presidential hopeful/candidate, I did a quick study. His environmental record in Texas was abysmal. Tied to that it was obvious he would pander to the money.

The moment he and his were in office, we started seeing things like massive issuing of oil drilling leases in the Gulf of Mexico. Rumsfeld was talking about preemptive subjects. Starwars was restarted.

Bush took 9/11 and turned it into Iraq. You may call them rich folk, Bush calls them his base. Rich people tend to get richer during wartime as long as the bombs aren't falling on them. Heh, we now are a half billion 5.56 bullets short a year thanks to Iraq. It turns out US bullet mfrs. can't make enough of them.

The rush to war in Iraq was so rushed that our brain trust didn't plan on not being allowed to cross Turkey to get at Saddam. Bush was so popular in Spain, he couldn't meet with Aznar in Madrid. They had to go to the Azores. Aznar got what Bush deserved, a swift kick out of office.

It's not? Bush grabbed 52% of the vote in '04. On here so far it's more than 2:1 "I voted for somebody else" over all other answers.

Bush's current approval rating has nothing to do with who you voted for last year.

Edit: Just looked at the poll again... now almost 3:1

IIRC from my communications classes, people are more likely to say they did something in the past if that something is popular in the present. I'm putting it badly, but it wouldn't be at all unusual from a stats point of view to have people say they didn't vote for Bush even if they had, if they perceive Bush as being unpopular now. Whether it's misremembering or a case of wanting to fit in, it is a proven tendency.

*shrugs*

That's an interesting point but I'd like to think that on something that simple to remember (and with the "I voted for him but don't support him now" option) the members here would be a little more honest.

I believe the answers given on this poll were truthful.

heh, right, now that he has shaped the country for the next generation in the image of those bad ideas, oh well, on to the next. Right. Thanks for that....
The majority are not gonna buy his latest PR blitz either.

Well if this Poll was posted on a Nascar Site of a 700 Club site I'd bet the results would be the opposite.
