i don't know.. all i know is that the tuesday before ash wednesday my mom makes the most pancakes ever and its like a big family deal.

3 more weeks of doing whatever I want (within the limits of Catholicism, of course). Though I don't give anything up for Lent. Used to. Now I try and do more. No, not more drinking, sexing it up, or drugs (like I would do any of those), but more good deeds during Lent.

Your family is atheist, right? So in that case you don't really need to eat pancakes according to the Catholic calendar...why not just eat them any Tuesday you want to?
