Hey guys, i bought the DFI lanparty nf4 ultra-d and some corsair valueram (2x512mb), and i've tried installing it into the mobo, but it doesn't go in! i've lined up the "key" and it still doesn't move. did dfi make it intentionally to not allow corsair ram or something? Please help!

I believe he's referring to the two tabs on the sides that hold the sticks in. Are those unlocked?

I always have to press it almost obscenely hard every time I mess with RAM on my motherboard. Feels like it's going to break everytime. Goes in though. Dont know why they feel the need to make it that resistant.

Sometimes ram can take a bit of pressure to install, maybe more than you think. However, make sure that you have the tabs unlocked, or else you will just end up breaking something.

Use your muscles! Don't break it though. Once you hear it starting to crack, let go of the pressure. :p
Nah, the standoffs won't rub as long as it's secure.

You've unlocked both tabs right? So they're "splayed" outward? When you try to push the RAM stick in, do the tabs started moving back inward on their own?

Some sockets are very tight. Be careful not to press down so hard you crack the mobo (been there, done that). techies trick: A squirt of WD40 in the edge connector of the RAM socket will make the ram go in easier.

The RAM stick either fits or it doesn't You should be able to see how the notch lines up and either it's the right RAM for the socket or it's not.

A squirt of WD40? Have not heard of that one..is it safe? Try pushing down one side at a time and see if that works.
