If i have 2 HDD.... one for my main system... and then another for storage....do i have to put an OS on it? or just format it??

Hmm, some indefinate references there...

I'm guessing you have 1 computer with 2 HDs. You've been running with one HD and just added the second, well in that case, all you have to do is format that thing and you can start using it.
 
hehe... yeah thats it... its not mine... just my boss was asking me, and i just told him to format, and it should recognize it... thanks for the help ,

You have to fdisk the new second HDD and create an extended partition. You then need to create a logical dos partition within the extended partition. You then format the logical dos partition. Now you can use your new HDD.
 
Thanks, I suspected there was an error in my sequence. Fdisk then Format, let's see if I remember that next time.
