Quick question...

What's the standard multiplier on an AMD 1.2ghz chip? Example: My Duron 750 was 7.5x100. So what would this be for a T-Bird 1.2ghz? Thanks!

So if it's coupled with an ASUS A7M266 it should default to 9x133? Just as long as the mobo is a 266fsb correct?

that's correct.

and make sure you have pc133 ram

EDIT: it doesn't actually DEFAULT to it...you have to choose it in the BIOS

sounds right...i'm not sure on the asus but there is either a jumper to select 133/33 (fsb/pci) or it's an option in the bios

actually, i built up a 1.2 ghz system last night. abit mobo...defaulted to 7.5 x 100 (i.e. 750 mghz)

but all you do is go in and manually change it to 133, then it moves the multipler to 9

huh, actually a lot of new t-birds (my 1.33 included) are showing up UNlocked. and even if they are locked, they are VERY easy to unlock. also, setting the multiplier DOES really do something...it's the most effective way of overclocking, with fsb being the icing on the cake
