I wouldn't think so, but then again I've never had someone come and change my window...

Seriously, you have never heard of this? We have several companies here that will come to your house or place of business and change your windshield.

Tipping is usually for non-paid services, like pizza delivery. If there is an installation fee, no need to tip.

You tip for service industry positions (ie. waiters, food delivery, barbers/stylists, salons, bellhops, valets, taxi drivers, etc.). You don't have to tip for installation services. Think of it this way: you wouldn't tip the cable guy, right? Why tip the windshield installer but not the cable installer? The guy might not object (unless there's some company policy regarding tips), so it's up to you, but you shouldn't feel compelled.

I would say no. I gave the last one 2 bottles of water but it was also 110 outside so I felt bad.

I tip the cable guy. Should I not?

I don't tip Mr. Windshield Changer, the cable guy, the furniture delivery guy, the phone guy, contractors, the mailman, stadium ushers, the supermarket bagger, the restroom "attendant" or the trash collector.

I do tip the barber, the waiter, the cab driver, the valet parking guy and the hotel bellhop. I've also tipped the AAA service truck guy on the couple of occasions when he got there fast and took care of things quickly. I don't get pizza delivered so no issue there.

I tipped him when he changed my windshield last week, it took him all of 10 minutes, IMO that's speedy and deserves a little something extra.

Depends on if he "forgets" to install the channel filters or not (if you only have internet or not all the analog channels)

I tip ANYONE any time they do an above average or super job.
Everyone works for a paycheck, some of us get bonuses from our companies.
How would you feel if you knew you did a superb job, went above and beyond what was expected of you, & at "bonus time", your employer tells you that he pays you, that's all you deserve?
Some jobs, such as wait staff, Pizza delivery, Maids, etc. do rely on tips, they even have to pay taxes on a percentage of their invoice sales, whether Mr. Tightwad tips or not. But as a rule, anyone in the service industry rarely, if ever, get much, if any, bonuses from their employer, at least not the kind we are used to, so a few bucks for a job well done is quite appropriate, IMO.

If it's just the cable guy, or furniture delivery, I'll just give a token to show my appreciation. However, I always tip the Pizza delivery guy or the waitress/waiter the minimum 15% if the service was just typical, but if they deliver fast or wait on you willingly or with a smile, I tend to go overboard with the tips & hope they remember me the next time!

Of course, if you are the "typical" ATOTer, making $100K+ yr. you tip no one! Ever! Period!
You've worked hard trading stocks day and night to earn your money, you can't be bothered to help out the poor peons, that would be like giving to the street bums! :)
