I know there are such things at pitless adapters, so the word must mean something, right? I can't find it through any online dictionary. Anyone have a formal definition?

I will burn down these forums if someone says anything that even comes close to "something that doesn't have a pit".

Was I wrong?

I guess if linking me to adapters on Ebay from which I already stated that I knew existed in the OP is what you were going for...no.

That death cage gladiatorial arena fails because it is pitless.

Can you even define a word by using part of the word in the definition?

So what pit are we referring to? The pit that RoloMather mentioned up above, such as a physical depression in an objet, or a pit in the sense of one found in a fruit?

I'm guessing there's multiple definitions to this word. I just want the primary definition, if that's even possible.

Yay me. Maybe next time you should label your thread more clearly next time. If you already knew what you were looking for? I chee wa wa!

I'm not trying to sound rude, this is a nice forum and you're welcome to stay if you abide by the "AHEM!" rules. I can't say the name or I'll be banned again for the last time!!!

I was thinking of the physical object(pit). There's better phrasing if you're referring to a smooth surface. The surface coat on the car was pitless. It works, but I think it could be better.

 to CorCentral

Anyways, the only reason I asked the question was because I wanted to say something along the lines of "Their eyes were as pitless as...*something*". I like the word a lot and want to use it, but I just want to make sure I'm using it in the correct terminology. I've never run across this with any other word before.

I don't think it works well in the way you want to use it.

I swear I've seen this word used in the same context before, hell. I'll think of something; thank you late night comrade.

What's the feeling you're going for? Inscrutable, uncaring, unfeeling, unreadable?
