Hey guys,

Since my router has a limited number of open slots for port forwarding, would it be safe just to port forward all ports 1-60000 to overcome this issue?

Also, if I did do this, would the ports be open all the time or only open when an application requests to communicate through one?

would be extremely unsafe.

You basically are voiding the Firewall.

Get a Linksys WRT54L flash it with 3rd party firmware. Most of them add many additional entries for port opening.
