quick question

Today, my friend told me he found a way to get around certain search protection software such as surfcontrol and such. He refused to tell me how he worked this out. But he used system32 he said to change the scripts to change him into an administrator, so he could access any site without any blocking. If someone can explain the steps to do this I would really appreciate it. Thanks!!
