Quick question

I'm going to rip a bunch of my CD's, about how much space do you think 12 average CDs will take on my harddrive if they are ripped into 192k mp3's? That's roughly... 160 songs?

I would guess 1mb per minute, average of 4 minutes a song, so about... 640mb of space?

192 would be approximately 50% larger than 128. so about a gig maybe?

Ok sounds good. For a second I was thinking maybe it might take too much space to backup all my music, since half you dudes have have 100GB worth of music. I could backup all my music onto one DVD...

Wow I thought this would take longer than this, but went by fast. Just started last CD, already at 800mb, so probably be around 850mb in the end. Not bad. Cut out all the songs I don't like and I could fit all my music on one CD!
