Looks like it's on the camera. If it's a minidv camera it's probably firewire. If it's a still camera probably usb. In both cases the connector on the camerea end is usually proprietary.
Like I said previously, if it's a minidv camera, then it probably is firewire, but the port on the camera is usually proprietary, so you are probably stuck with getting a cable from Sony.
Your pic is not a usb, but close to a small firewire, but firewire has 4 contacts and yours has 5
no its got 4 look again you probly had glare or something but there are 4 so im guessing its just a cheap 4p-6p firewire caable i need to get there are 5 black teeth but 4 contact points i think
If it's a sony it should be firewire, but the pic as I see it shows 5 tabs evenly spaced in that socket. The 4 pin firewire connector has 4 contacts evenly spaced, so I doubt that they will line up. Sorry, I don't have my camera here to show you a pic of it.
Take a look at this cross section 2nd on the left and you will see what I mean
The "i" is moulded into the plastic on your pic to the right of the socket, so it definately firewire.
The 6 pin was known as firewire and the 4 pin was commonly referred to ilink.
sniperruff probably has the best suggestion, just go somewhere and try one.
