Quick Question: Will a newegg "open box" CPU HSF come with brackets and all?

Question in title/summary. I know OT is technically not the place for this, but OT typically has the quickest response times

About to order an "Open Box" Thermaltake CPU fan from Newegg, but I don't want to get hosed by not receiving mounting brackets and a power cable to plug into the mobo.

Wait, forget about it! Call them up or email them and ask. Because in one of the pics I saw brackets being separate.


The power cable should theoretically be perma-attached to hsf.

I did the "chat with live support people thing"

result: there is no way to guarantee I will receive the mounting brackets in addition to the fan itself.

Do I gamble and get the fan for 50% off? This is madness

Have ordered a few open box items from Newegg.......sometimes came like it was new with everything, other times just the item itself with nothing else. Luck of the draw, but take it to heart when they say expect just the item......and be happy if you get anything else.

You'll probably just get the heatsink/fan itself. No brackets (unless they're attached to the heatsink) and no extra power adapters.

depends on whether other people washed them before returning the complete pie package. newegg is not responsible for missing, broken, or dirty utensils


just as a minor update, i was going to pick up one this morning (i figured if i lost $5 shipping it back it wouldn't be that big a deal) but they were totally OOS
