Quick Question: Where files(s) contain your Outlook mail?

My hard drive isn't booting into Windows, so I am giving up and reformating it. Before I do, I want to save all my mail and copy it into another hard drive. I know you can export mail, but is there anything like this that you can do without actually getting into Outlook? Is there an Inbox file located somewhere on my computer? Thanks a bunch.

C drive>Windows>Application Data>Identities>{EE09FEA9-7 etc..}>Microsoft>Outlook Express

Copy & paste the contents of that folder to the same folder of Outlook with your freash install of Windows. It will give you all of your old mail (Inbox,Outbox,etc..)but does not save your address book.

Thanks! I'll deal without the address book, I just need my e-mail. Actually is there any way to save the address book too?

Oh wait, one problem... I'm using Office 2002 (bundled with Microsoft Office XP). I think your instructions were for Outlook Express. Can anything be done about 2002?

Yes that was Outlook Express6,it did work with the older versions as well.Is the newer version that much different?

Well the thing is that Outlook Express and Outlook are pretty much the same program but still come in different packes (Express is free Outlook is in Office).

In Win2k or XP try this:

C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

Outlook.pst
Mailbox.pab

The directory you are looking for is usually hidden which is why you couldn't find the files when you did a search. Look where astroview said. The .pst will have all of your emails, calendar info, contacts, etc. The .pab will have your address book.
