quick question: what LGA775 CPUs does chipset 915G support?

Most 915 chipset boards only support Pentium-4's (90nm only) and celerons(again 90nm). There may be a few that support the 90nm pentium-d's, but I haven't seen any that support 65nm chips at all. If you want to know for sure..just look at the website or manual for your specific motherboard....

sounds like prescott...if that's the case, get a new board. at the *absolute* least i would consider a presler (pentium d 9xx) or smithfield (pentium d 8xx), but honestly i wouldn't really consider anything that's not conroe-based unless it was a weird circumstance (the processor/motherboard's free, etc).
