i have a WRT54G running alchemy, yes this may be the wrong forum for this but its not a very 'technical' question-

how the heck can i list the computers connected and their IP addresses assigned by DHCP? i know there has to be a way to do it, but i see no ip table option or anything.

just want to make sure the way i've set up my wireless network is a-ok and random other people aren't cracking past my WEP and that my mac address filter is actually working...

cheers

Even though it's not very technical, you might still post in the Networking forum - there's a couple guys there that are awesome at answering networking questions - I've never seen them post in OT so I don't know if they read it or not.

I don't have the answer, sorry - although I have been thinking about picking up one of these routers and going to 802.11g.

darn, I just finished seting one of those up, dont have it anymore

but you can see who is connected through the wireless, not by ip, but by mac addresses. Go to wireless setings, security where the list of allowed or banned mac addresses are and there is a button that allows you to see everyone connected

If you want to find the DHCP clients, I know with the Linksys firmware for that router(which I have) you go into Administration or Status, and then into the Local Network page and click on the only button on that page. It'll show all clients that currently have an IP given to them, wired and wireless.
Non-DHCP clients I'm not sure how to find though.

I have 2 of them sitting here, but I don't use them for my DHCP server, I use a linux box to do that.. So I can't answer you question. :)

Status -> Local Network -> DHCP Clients Table

I only had MAC filtering on for a while there and people were still able to log on ... somehow I doubt people in this neighborhood are technically inclined to spoof MAC addresses  ... so I'm gonna blame my alchemy firmware lol

got it, thanks guys. can't believe i didn't see the option- its 2 levels deep though- you have to first click to see the allowed mac addresses, then click another button on that page to see who's currently connected...

thanks for the help!
