Quick question...selling wife's cell phone. Remove sim card?

My wife changed from a Blackjack II to an iPhone so she did not need to move her sim card. She has removed all the data on the phone but I am still leery of selling the phone with the sim card in it. Should I remove it and note that on the sale?

Why the hell would you include the Sim card? Blank ones are either free or $5.
