Quick Question regarding Seti Reporting to determine which team gets it.

Lifer
I have a seti Queue running here, and it gets all of its WU's directly from berkley or wherever the main server is. It doesnt run through any other SETI q's. How do i take the WU's I complete in this queue, and credit a team with the results?

I know there must be a simple way to do this, but I have no clue how.

Thanks,
Bryan

The results are tied to the UserID of the client that submitted them.

It will depend on which userid you used to crunch the work units. AFAIK there would be no way for the userid to be changed, i have never tried

Confused

The SETIQ doesn't have anything to do with teams. The team you join gets credit for all your WUs, and the team you leave loses the credit for the WUs.

I think SETI manages the username / team connection on the server side, so I'm not sure how much SETIQ can actually do about changing to which team a WU goes. It may be able to alter the username (if necessary) to point the WUs to a username that is part of the desired team, but I'm not sure if WUs are assigned to a specific user, and therefore if changing the username on them during the upload process would screw things up.

Edit: damn, you guys are quick! :Q

Ok this is what I did

1) Downloaded setiqueu and set it up

2) Started running a bunch of computers pointing to the queue I just setup, and they started crunching

So Im confused, who is getting credit, or how do I join a team so that my queue's results get credited to them (im not talking about past completed but as they get completed)

here is a link to my queue

Thanks again for any light you might be able to shine on this subject

edit: Sorry, I meant to ask what I can do about it period, not just on the seti Q end.

The wus will be credited to the email account you use to setup seti on each computer. if you use the same email for all the machines they will all crunch for the same account. The q just send and recieves results.
For instance if you used aaasmoke@bellsouth.net then all the results will go to team smokeball no matter if you use a q or not.
If you setup a new account with a new user name and email then you will have to joined the acount to TeAm Anandtech but you will then be crunching for the new account you just created not team Smokeball.
