Quick question regarding .Net Framework

I've recently installed SQL Server 2005 Express, but the thing wouldn't install unless I install the .Net framework 2.0 first. I did, and it's working fine.

However, I also have version 1.1 of the .Net framework, wich I've just uninstalled. Is that ok? Or do I need the have both version installed?
