quick question regarding installing xp-90c on DFI NF4 Ultra-D

did you guys leave to stock yellow backplate (the plastic plate underneath the socket underneath the motherboard)? i left it and the shorter screws that come with the xp-90 wont reach it to tighten, so i used the longer stock ones. is that the proper way to do it? attach the black xp90 mounting bracket with the stock longer screws to the stock yellow backplate? also which way did u face the overhang, towards ram or pci-e slots and why?
