Quick Question on Mobo Fan

I have a A-64 running on an Epox MB. The fan on the motherboard is dying and I was wondering if it was a good idea to replace it with a Zalman heatsink. I'd rather have the heatsink on the mb for less noise, but I don't know if that would cool the chipset enough. I was wondering if you guys think I'd be fine. I am not overclocking btw if that matters????
